Administrative note

A black sign with cheery white lettering, saying, 'Sorry - Back in 5 mins'

My usual Luck-o-Meter commentary on the weekend's most improbable - and FPL-distorting - events may be late in appearing this week.

And/or severely truncated.  Or perhaps just absent altogether.

I am in the midst of a spell of travelling, and am expecting to be 'busy' and/or 'on the road' for most of the upcoming Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Thus, I might not even be catching up on the latest gameweek action until the middle of next week. Such is my life.

This might be an opportunity to rethink the Luck-o-Meter format, or perhaps retire it altogether. I've kept up these detailed reviews fairly consistently for over a year now, and have adequately proved the point  -  that shit happens, every goddamn week, in far greater amounts than most people notice or care to acknowledge, and that all of this randomness and weirdness actually has more of an impact on FPL outcomes than the expected/predicted points returns of the major players.

And lately, I fear, these reviews have been becoming just too darned time-consuming to maintain in their current form.

I have been pondering some alternate approaches to exploring the impact of luck in our game, different metrics I might evaluate each week - which hopefully might prove just as insightful, but require less effort to compile. Watch this space.
