Watching the world go by...

A small balcony overlooking a street in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

One of the nicest things about just watching the world go by.... is that sometimes... it doesn't go by.

I was back in Phnom Penh last week. It is a densely populated and tumultuous city. And yet, from time to time, everyone somehow disappears, and even busy streets right in the heart of town will seem strangely deserted for an hour or two. And my regular guesthouse has this tiny but comfortable little balcony, allowing me to look down on whatever is happening, or not happening, in the street below. One of my favourite spots in the world at the moment.

A comfy chair, a refreshing drink, a book to read, and a restful view - what more does one need from life?

A better-than-blank from your FPL captain once in a while would be nice; but it's not an essential part of the 'good life'.
